Ex-vocalist & trackmaker of Retro G-Style. Started playing acoustic guitar when he was a junior high school student, in high school he was a member of a band heavily influenced by JUN SKY WALKERS and TH BLUE HEARTS. He first discovered electro and hip-hop music when he went to a music school. In 2001, he debuted as a memeber of Retro G-Style creating new sound of pop-folk which combined his melancholic melodies - his influences from different musical styles he was listening to, with hip-hop beats and sensibility. The distinctive sound he created became highly regarded in the music scene. In his lyrics, he used a lot of spoken word and abstract expression which through it's directness in reflecting the feelings and emotions strongly referred to the 70s folk music. This absolutely pure world that he creates with his lyrics evokes and touches upon our common feelings. His sweet and sentimental voice also adds to their attractiveness. He made all the songs for Retro-G Style and also composed, wrote lyrics and arranged w-inds's "Pieces", BENNIE K's "Melody" and Heartsdales's "Color of Love". Retro G-Style broke up after releasing 9 singles and 2 albums. At the moment, he's working on a new project that aims to fuse Japanese music with foreign sounds. |
